General Surgeons of BC Job Fair

As part of the Annual Spring Meeting of the BC Surgical Society to be held May 4-6, 2017 the General Surgeons of BC present:

Job Fair to be held on Saturday, May 6, at the Tigh Na Mara Resort, in Parksville. The program outline is as follows:

2:30pm Work Force Summit for General Surgeons – The Future of General Surgery Practice in BC
Keynote Speaker: Dr. Morad Hameed, President, Canadian Association of General Surgeons
3:30pm Job Fair – Residents in 4th and 5th Year, Fellows and Retiring Surgeons have been invited, along with communities from around BC who will be recruiting a new surgeons within the next year or two. Surgeons who are looking to job share, looking for locums, or planning ahead for their department will be present. Display tables will be available for those wishing to use material from their hospital/communities.
4:30pm Refreshments, casual meet and greet.

BCCA Surgical Oncology Network 2016 Annual Fall Update

SON BCCA PHSA LogoThe BC Cancer Agency’s Surgical Oncology Network invites you to take part in its 2016 Annual Fall Update at the Vancouver Four Seasons Hotel. This year’s event will focus on HPB, Melanoma, and Breast Cancers. This event has been approved as an Accredited Group Learning Activity eligible for up to 7.5 Section 1 credits as defined by the Maintenance of Certification program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

This one day conference features topics on surgical techniques, screening, pathology, quality indicators, adjuvant therapy, imaging, radiation and other information regarding HPB, Melanoma, and Breast Cancers. The event will be co-chaired by Dr. Elaine McKevitt (Chair, SON CPD-KT Committee), Dr. Shawn MacKenzie (HPB surgical oncologist) and Dr. Chris Baliski (Chair, SON and SON Melanoma Tumour Group) and is a must-attend for surgical oncologists, general surgeons, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, residents and other related specialists.

Early-bird registration is $300 for those who register before October 1, and $325 for those who register by the October 15, 2016 deadline. There is a special $75 registration rate for residents.
